I’ve worked closely with Greens MPs to shape messages that cut through—from proactive issue
focused op-eds to reactive media grabs. These pieces weren’t just random writing exercises, but were
part of broader strategies to shift public debate and elevate our voice in crowded media cycles.
I’ve shot, edited and produced campaign videos solo, often with quick turnarounds in unpredictable environments. That includes events, pressers, and community visits where visual storytelling matters. I also shoot photos with DSLR, for professional headshots or for social media.
From supporter emails to another other mass digital communications, I focus on making people feel part of a movement for change, not just marketed to. I write with a voice that’s friendly but clear, and I always aim to reflect the values of the movement we’re building, not just the issue of the day.
This is an example of people-focused supporter email I’ve written, with the goal of driving meaningful action while building a genuine sense of connection between the reader and our team.
Rather than speaking at people, this kind of email speaks with them, aiming to make supporters feel personally valued, emotionally invested, and directly part of a broader movement.
I’ve managed social channels for MPs across different electorates, building different content strategies that rely on evidence to deliver engagement. A lot of my focus has been on reaching people who are skeptical of politics and institutionalism using evidence-based strategies to cut through. I also keep a close eye on analytics and feedback to fine-tune what’s landing.
This approach has led to me being seconded to teams in other states to train their communications staff, helping them build their own strategies to engage people via. Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
I’ve built strong relationships with both national and local journalists across television, radio and print, working collaboratively to shape stories that land with impact and put pressure where it counts on the issues that matter.
From electoral reform to housing investment, I’ve helped turn dense policy into accessible comms for public audiences. In one example, I led content on a major public housing initiative announcement, coordinating with our team to ensure every piece, from social media to press kits, told a coherent, consistent and compelling story.
